Relief Society Activity

Join us for this special Relief Society event, and learn new skills, give service, and build your spirituality! Sign up to bring some finger foods or desserts. Nursery is available (bring a simple dinner for your child to be served in the nursery.)

Tips and Tricks for Trimming Your Family’s Hair – Linda Hayward
Master Chef Series: Cooking with Karen Anderson - Main Dish Salads (this class starts at 4:30)
Christmas Flower Arrangement – Shirley Monroe. Cost about $10 (cancelled)
Service Project: Baby Quilt for orphanage. This will be available all night.

Learning to Sew: Making a Cute Apron – Nancy Saller. Cost about $8.

Service Project: Letters to missionaries and servicemen. This will be available all night).

Additional information on classes:
Tips and Tricks for Trimming Your Family’s Hair – Linda Hayward will demonstrate some tips, tools and products to help you trim your family members’ hair. Learn how to extend a professional cut, or trim your husband or son’s hair. Learn to trim your daughter’s bangs. This will be a two-hour class. No cost.

Temple Block – Create this cute wood block temple picture with the reminder that “I’m Going There Someday”. This is a 5 x 7” wood block which is painted and sanded, and then decoupage on your favorite temple, along with a bow. All of the temples are available. The cost will be about $5. Jessica Berejkoff will show you how to make this great gift.

Learning to Sew: Making a Cute Apron – Nancy Saller will teach you how to sew a cute and easy apron. Practice your basic sewing skills while you learn to make this cute gift idea. Nancy will have fabric there, or you can bring your own cotton print. The cost is about $10.


Learning to Sew: Making a Snack Bag - Karen Saller will teach you how to sew a cute snack bag. The inside of the bag is lined with plasticized fabric. The cost will be under $5.
Master Chef Series: Cooking with Karen Anderson – Karen is a former caterer and all-around great cook. She will teach us how to make delicious main dish salads, such as Chinese chicken salad, and sweet pulled pork salad. Come and see how to make these tasty, healthy, "day before Thanksgiving" meals! This class will start promptly at 4:30.

Master Chef Series: Gingerbread Houses. Allysa Madsen will show us cake decorating skills as you learn to create a Christmas masterpiece. Bring a bag of candy to share, and your pre-baked gingerbread. Allysa will have a recipe and instructions for the gingerbread. No cost.

 
Keeping Christ in Christmas – This is a spiritual class focusing on Christmas service project ideas for families, places to go for Christmas family outings that are low or no cost, and ways of planning Christmas without breaking the budget. Melodee Parker and Christine Wilson will share great ideas to make this the best Christmas ever.


Service Project: Tie a Baby Quilt for an Orphanage. Quilts are intended to warm not only the body, but the spirit as well. Help in tying a quilt to be sent by LDS Humanitarian Services to an orphanage in need somewhere in the world. This quilt will be set up and available throughout the night. Everyone stop by and tie at least one tie on this special quilt.

Service Project: Letters to Missionaries and Servicemen and Servicewomen from our Ward – Stop by and write a few words on letters to missionaries from our ward, and to servicemen and women serving to protect our country. This table will be set up and available throughout the night.

Service Project: Paint a Wooden Toy for an Orphanage. These bright colored toys are sent by LDS Humanitarian Services to children in an orphanage somewhere in the world. Use your painting talents to help create one.
